A Little More Info About How Things Are Now

We are starting our 18th Season much different than how we first began.

Before Covid-19 hit us, we had already filled up our spring and summer programming. The shows were cast, costumes were being built and plans were set in motion.

We did physically close our theatre temporarily. But we continued working with our casts over Zoom. Once it became clear that we were not going to be allowed to have an audience again, we had to make a decision to fight or flight.  Making movies seemed like a logical choice. We decided to give it a try.

Our spring and summer casts came in to work. We tried out the new way of making art and had a ton of fun. So here is the short list of what has changed. We do have a more comprehensive line-by-line business operations that we give to our registered families at time of registration, but here it is in a nutshell.

Cast size is limited. We do that anyway but now we absolutely can’t slide in an extra participant here and there. We can fit 22 actors in the house distanced six feet apart.  We can take a small movie crew of 4 people.  Sometimes this number changes by what the State allows.  But we can distance 22 actors 6' feet apart.

You’ve got to be healthy to participate. Temperature checks are taken before entering. Only registered participants are allowed in the building. Parents are not allowed inside.

Lots of hand washing is done. Kids bring a personal hand sanitizer bottle with them and keep it out on their table. And lots and lots of cleaning.

If anyone is moving around the building, they have to wear a mask. If anyone is sitting in their 6’ spaced designated seating area or are spaced 6’ away from each other, they can take off their mask.

No group singing.

We don’t share personal items.

We follow the guidelines set forth by the CDC for Day Camps. Since these guidelines change, so do our business operations. But the above list has basically stayed the same and so these are the new rules.

Things are pretty much the same, just spaced out differently.
