Actors will prepare for the project at home first. Some projects will require online rehearsals through Zoom and ARE NOT optional. This could include cast meetings and Q&A, movie makeup application session, line delivery coaching and vocal sessions. Dance instruction could be given online and through video files uploaded to a Google Drive Folder.
Once online preparations are completed, it's time to head to the studio. When actors arrive at the studio, they must be ready and memorized. Actors will receive instruction on where to hit their marks and review directions received during our online sessions.
There may be sessions prior to the actor’s arrival for the crew to prep the studio, dress the set and build anything the movie may need. Crew will then learn how to operate the equipment and practice camera shots.
Actors may have to provide their costumes or pieces of their costumes depending on the role and show. Actors always provide their own shoes, socks, makeup and under garments.
Filming typically happens over the course of two weeks, depending on the hours scheduled. We may only call in specific actors to work on specific days or we may call everyone in at once depending on the filming needs.
Once we have reviewed the footage (Dailies) and know we have all the shots we need, actors and crew will engage in skill training to further develop in their art discipline. This will usually be based on the upcoming project and can include acting, dance, styles, theatre games, building, painting, sewing, camera work, marketing, design, pre and post-production needs.
The footage is then complied and goes into post-production. This process takes a while to complete. Expect a movie release a few months after completing rehearsals. Movie Tickets will be available for purchase.
Days and hours will vary depending on the movie.
Anticipate projects needing virtual rehearsal at home to span over two to three weeks but not every day. These sessions would occur after school and on the weekends for an hour or so at a time. Sometimes with the full cast, sometimes with small groups. Actors must work on their own to prepare including memorizing, working on music and viewing/memorizing dances. Not all shows require virtual rehearsal.
Rehearsal at the studio will meet just about every day for approximately two weeks, reserving some weekdays for reshoots if needed. Hours are 4:00-7:00pm after school and full days on the weekends. Conflicts are not allowed. It is very possible that middle weekdays will not be needed depending if your actor is memorized and has done the pre-rehearsal work. Each project will have its own schedule.
